Appearance: colorless crystal powder
Melting point 450oC, Density: 1.085g/ml, odorless and creamy.
It can absorb water intensively to form Boric Acid if exposed in the air.
It can be reduced into single element boron by Alkali metal, magnesium or aluminium at high tempreture.
It can be dissolved in acids, ethanol, hot water and slightly in cold water.
It canbe combine with metals to form boron glasses with specific colors.
It also can be dissolved in th alkali and oxidized metals, such as copper, silver, aluminium, tin and arsenide.
Useage:
It can be used as fluxing agent for silicate decomposing, doping agent of semi-conductor materials, paint. In the metallurgical industry, it can be used for alloy steel smelting. It also can be used as catalysts for organic synthesis, additive for high temperature lubricant, and chemical reagents
